BETH MARSHALL

Beth Marshall began her dance training in New Jersey at four years old. Growing up, she primarily studied at the American Repertory Ballet/Princeton Ballet School and Kathleen Academy of Dance. As a member of the NJ youth tap company, Kids on Tap, Beth performed multiple times at TapCity in New York City, and the Chicago Human Rhythm Project. She also performed throughout NJ with Dance for the Cure, a dance company that provides breast cancer education through the art of dance.

In 2019, as part of a community program with Pamela Hetherington, Beth performed with others from Sound Space Performing Arts for National Tap Dance Day. She has studied tap dance under Kathleen Cirioli and Bettye Morrow, as well as many local and internationally known teachers and Tap Masters. Beth continues to study tap dance with Heather Cornell, Robert S. Burden, Jr., Germaine Salsberg, and others. As a member of the DDC staff, she assists as a co-production manager for ballet performances.

A dance teacher since 1999, she has taught for studios in New Jersey, New York and Georgia, including ballet at Georgia Southern University. As a member of Dance Masters of America, she is a Certified Tap Teacher. Beth has also completed Karida Griffith Walker’s Tap Teacher Training. Beth is a strong proponent of including the history of tap dance within her classes and continues to learn and share the oral tradition.

She is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and a Certified Sports and Conditioning Specialist. While no longer working as a dietitian, Beth brings her knowledge of conditioning into class. Beth lives in Newark with her husband and son.
