Performing Groups
Delaware Dance Company offers structured performance opportunities for dancers who wish to deepen their training through ensemble work, rehearsals, and performances throughout the year.
YOUTH DANCE ENSEMBLE
The Youth Dance Ensemble (YDE) is designed for advanced beginner and intermediate dancers who are ready to explore performance as part of their training. YDE dancers gain experience performing at community events, festivals, and DDC productions while developing confidence, artistry, and a strong sense of ensemble.
PERFORMING COMPANY
The Performing Company is Delaware Dance Company’s primary performance group for serious dancers in Ballet Level 4 and above. Company members engage in rigorous training and perform in major productions, festivals, and community events, gaining valuable experience in a professional-style environment.
PERFORMING IN THE COMMUNITY
In addition to mainstage productions, Delaware Dance Company is committed to sharing dance beyond the theater. Dancers regularly perform at community events, festivals, and outreach programs throughout the region.
These performances support DDC’s mission as a nonprofit organization by increasing access to dance, building community connections, and fostering appreciation for the arts.
REGIONAL DANCE AMERICA
Delaware Dance Company is a proud member of Regional Dance America (RDA), a national organization dedicated to advancing the art of dance and supporting the growth of pre-professional dancers and companies across the country.
Through RDA, select Delaware Dance Company dancers have the opportunity to participate in regional festivals, perform alongside other outstanding training programs, and work with nationally recognized choreographers and educators. These festivals celebrate artistic excellence while emphasizing education, collaboration, and community.
Participation in Regional Dance America reflects DDC’s commitment to:
High standards of training and artistic integrity
Meaningful performance opportunities for dedicated dancers
Continued growth through professional feedback and education
RDA performances and festivals are an important part of our season, offering dancers valuable stage experience and audiences the chance to see work presented within a nationally respected framework.
