KELLY MILLAR

Kelly Millar was raised in Elmer, NJ. She started her dance training at the age of nine and continued to attain the level of Soloist with the Vineland Regional Dance Company. Her summer training included Burklyn Ballet Theatre and the Juilliard School. A graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in Human Services, Education, and Public Policy, Kelly has continued to perform as a freelance artist. She has worked as an instructor and choreographer with numerous dance organizations including Delaware Dance Company, Vineland Regional Dance Company, Delaware Ballet, Houston Dance Theatre, the School of First State Ballet Theatre, and the University of Delaware Dance Team and Dance Minor Program. As a choreographer, more than ten of her works have been selected and performed at the Northeast Regional Dance America Festivals and at the National Festival in 2017. She has also worked with First State Ballet Theatre where she set two original pieces that premièred in 2015 and 2016. Mrs. Millar directed the annual Delaware Dance Festival from 2007-2020, a non-profit organization promoting the art of dance and offering scholarships to dance students throughout Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Miss Kelly, as her students call her, has been the Dance Academy teacher at Arthur P. Schalick High School for the past six years. She was recently awarded Educator of the Year in her school district. She is actively involved in school functions including the musical choreographer, Head Coach for the Varsity Cheerleading Team, member of the Pittsgrove Arts and Education Foundation, and the Elementary PTO President. Kelly has been married to her husband, Jason, for two decades and has two children, Owen and Alicia. She truly enjoys sharing her love for dance with others.
